    En1.4462/AISI S31803(2205)/F51 Duplex Steel material

Duplex stainless steel 2205 standard number: ASTM A240/A240M--01 Duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy is a duplex stainless steel composed of 22% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion.

    Introduction:
The yield strength of 2205 duplex stainless steel is more than double that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel. This feature allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more cost-effective than 316 and 317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for the -50°F/+600°F temperature range. Applications beyond this temperature range can also be considered for this alloy, but there are some limitations, especially when applied to welded structures.

    Application field:
    · Pressure vessels, high-pressure storage tanks, high-pressure pipes, heat exchangers (chemical processing industry).
    · Oil and gas pipelines, heat exchanger fittings.
    · Sewage treatment system.
    · Sorters, bleaching equipment, storage and processing systems for the pulp and paper industry.
    · Rotary shaft, press roll, blade, impeller, etc. under high-strength and corrosion-resistant environment.
    · Cargo boxes for ships or trucks
    · Food processing equipment

    Features:
Compared with 316L and 317L austenitic stainless steels, 2205 alloy of duplex stainless steel has better performance in pitting corrosion resistance and crevice corrosion resistance. It has high corrosion resistance. Compared with austenitic The coefficient of thermal expansion is lower and the thermal conductivity is higher.
Compared with austenitic stainless steel, the duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy has twice the compressive strength. Compared with 316L and 317L, designers can reduce its weight. The 2205 alloy is particularly suitable for the temperature range of -50°F/+600°F. It can also be used at lower temperatures under strict restrictions (especially for welded structures).
