What is the difference between 304 stainless steel tube and
304 and 321 are austenitic stainless steel, the appearance and physical properties are very similar, the chemical composition is slightly different:
First of all, 321 stainless steel is required to contain trace amount of titanium (Ti) (according to ASTM a182-2008 standard, its Ti content should not be less than 5 times of carbon (C) content, but not more than 0.7%. In addition, the carbon (C) content of 304 and 321 is 0.08%, while 304 does not
contain titanium (Ti).
Ti can prevent the sensitization of stainless steel, which is to improve the service life of stainless steel at high temperature
The second is slightly different requirements for nickel (Ni) content, between 8% and 11% in 304 and 9% to 12% in 321.
Third, the requirements for Cr content vary from 18% to 20% in 304 to 17% to 19% in 321.
